OPI has the good fortune to partner with a number of the institutions that are recognized in their field storage management. The list of partners includes leading academic and extension institutions across North America. It is through such partnerships that the OPI Biosystems Group is able to advance the capabilities of our technologies, as well as to provide linkages between research and commercial worlds.

  • Purdue University PHERC / Post Harvest Education and Research Center

Having contributed to the PHERC facility since its 1997 expansion, OPI has worked with Purdue in the advancement on numerous grain conditioning related strategies, including the incorporation of chillers and automated aeration strategies, as well as the testing of new technologies such as Insector. Headed by Dr. Dirk Maier, a recognized world-expert in storage and conditioning, OPI has also had the good fortune to retain Dr. Maier in a consulting capacity to help develop and foster our Biosytems program.

  • Oklahoma State University SPREC / Stored Product Research and Education Center

OPI was a founding investor to the SPREC facility. Since its opening in 2001, OPI has working with the SPREC team, which is headed by Dr. Tom Phillips, to test Insector in conjunction with IPM related strategies.

  • University of Manitoba Biosystems Department and the Canadian Wheat Board Centre for Grain Storage Research

Having contributed a StorMaxPro.Gimac system to the Canadian Wheat Board Centre for Grain Storage Research, OPI is collaborating with the University of Manitoba Biosystems Department. Under the leadership of Dr. Digvir Jayas, cooperation encompasses work relating to storage management techniques based on the facilities unique abilities to create climate and storage environment as found around the world.

  • Montana State Under the leadership of Dr. David Weaver, a member of the Insector Working Group, running field trials of the Insector and StorMaxPro.Gimac.
